Last weekend, we celebrated the Grand Opening of our new waterfront home, which promises to be a Canadian treasure and cultural destination for generations to come! The new Canadian Canoe Museum is a destination that invites visitors to learn about Canada’s collective history and reinforces our connections to land, water, and one another – all through the unique lens of the canoe. This significant cultural, educational, and historical museum honours the Indigenous origins of the jiimaan (canoe) and qajaq (kayak). Engaging exhibits and programs allow us to share the rich diversity of histories and stories of the canoe, fostering deeper understanding and inspiring future generations.
