#WayToGo BWXT joint venture Savannah River Mission Completion on not 1, not 2 but 3 prestigious awards from the National Safety Council! They received the Occupational Excellence Award, the Perfect Record Award and the Superior Safety Performance Award.
It was an honor to host the Director of Naval Reactors, Admiral Bill Houston at our Barberton and Euclid, Ohio sites this week. During the visits, Houston toured our facilities and received presentations and demonstrations of BWXT’s contributions to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. BWXT has manufactured naval nuclear components and reactors since the 1950s, when it designed and fabricated components for the USS Nautilus (SSN 571), the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine. Today, BWXT reactors power the Navy’s Ohio, Virginia, Seawolf and Los Angeles-class submarines, as well as the Nimitz and Ford-class aircraft carriers.
