  • 🔴 Today we mark the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), also recognized as Red Dress Day. Initiated by Métis artist Jamie Black, this day serves as a poignant reminder of the deep-seated issues that continue to affect Indigenous communities across Canada. Violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals remains disproportionately high, a tragic consequence of historical and ongoing systemic injustices. Today, we honour the lives tragically lost and affected by this national crisis. On this day of reflection and action, we encourage everyone to wear red in solidarity, educate themselves about the challenges faced by Indigenous communities, and support local events aimed at commemorating this vital cause. Let us stand together to raise awareness and foster change. 💔🕊️ #MMIWG #RedDressDay
